3) Native American Groups (SPANS) Southwest, Plains, Arctic, Northeast Woodland, Southeast
4) Southwest (Hopi, Pueblo) Known for: Cliff Dwellings
5) Plains (Sioux, Comanche, Witchita) Known for: Bison hunting and use of teepees
6) Arctic (Eskimos, Inuit) Known for: use of Kayaks and dog sleds
7) Northeast Woodlands (Iroquois/Algonquins) Known for: Iroquois League and long houses
8) Southeast (Cherokee, Creek) Mound vuilding
9) Mercantilism Economic system which depends upon the establishment of colonies to build wealth
10) Persecution To punish somebody because of their race, ethnicity or social group
11) Protestant Reformation Revolution against the Catholic church in 1577 which led to the Protestant sect
12) Sect A small group of religious followers with slightly different beliefs than the larger group
13) Topographical map a map which demonstrates land elevation
14) scale A tool on a map which translates distances on that map to distances in real life
15) Key A tool on a map which explains the symbols on that map.
16) Basin A dip or depression in the Earth's surface which is partially or entirely surrounded by higher ground.
17) Elevation A measure of your distance above the earth.
18) Sea Level The level of the Ocean's surface used as the starting point for measuring elevation.
