Adolf Hitler I was the leader of the Nazi party and was first elected chancellor in 1933. Later, I became dictator of Germany, one of the Axis Powers in WWII. I was responsible for the Holocaust.
Zapatistas We are an armed revolutionary group in Mexico. We did not like NAFTA because cheap corn and other products began to flood Mexico forcing down the prices local farmers could charge for their crops.
Hernan Cortes I was a Spanish conquistador. When I arrived in Mexico with 600 soldiers, the Aztecs greeted us thinking I was a god. I conquered the Aztecs and destroyed their capital city of Tenochtitlan.
Atahualpa I am known as the last leader of the Incas. The Spanish captured and killed me because they wanted gold and land.
Fidel Castro I led the revolution in my country to overthrow Batista. I set up a communist government in Cuba. Then, I ruled as dictator for almost 50 years.
Fulgencio Batista My political career was an example of the instability in Cuba during the early 20th Century. I was elected president once and later overthrew another leader to make myself dictator. I was overthrown during the Cuban Revolution by Fidel Castro.
Francisco Pizarro I was a Spanish conquistador who conquered the Incas. I too their gold and ordered that the Incan leader be killed.
Simon Bolivar I was a military leader who fought for independence in South America. I am known as the "George Washington of South America" and the "Liberator". My home was in Venezuela, but I helped countries such as Bolivia, Peru, and others gain freedom.
Raul Castro I am the leader of Cuba today. I came to power because my brother is in poor health.
Toussaint L'Ouverture I fought for independence against France. I organized a slave revolt, but was later imprisoned in France. Haiti was not free until after my death.
Montezuma As the last leader of the Aztecs, I welcomed the strange Spanish visitors. Cortes was on a horse and looked different than anything I'd ever seen! He had to be a god! I gave them gold, but they wanted more. The strangers destroyed my people---The Aztecs.
Miguel Hidalgo I fought the Spaniards to help my county gain freedom. I was a priest who made a famous speech and led a peasant revolt that began with church bells. I am known as the "father of Independence" in Mexico. I did not live to see Mexico gain freedom.
Vladimir Lenin I seized power after Tzar Nicholas II was killed in the Russian Revolution. My revolutionary group called the Bolshevik (Communist) party established the Soviet Union.
Archduke Francis Ferdinand I was assassinated by a Serbian nationalist. This was the SPARK that caused WWI to break out.
