Math Frashins Vocad. Unit 6

QuestionAnswer
numerator The top number of a fracton that shows how many parts of the whole you have.
Denominator The number below the line in a fraction. It tells the number of the equal parts into which a whole is divided.
Mixed fraction A fraction that includes wholes in part.
Benchmark: A number such as 0, 1/2, or 1 whole that help with estimating. Example: 4/5 is closer to 1 whole.
Common Denominator: Denominators in two or more fractions that are the same.
Equivalent Fraction Fractions that have the same value.
Fractions that have the same value. Fractions that have the same value.
Simplest Form A fraction is in simplest form when the greatest common factor of the numerator and denominator is 1. Example: 3/9 in simplest form is 1/3
