TermDefinition
Scale Factor This is the ratio of the lengths of any corresponding sides in similar figures or solids.
Dilation A transformation in which the image is similar but has been reduced or enlarged.
Center of Dilation The fixed point in the plane about which all points are expanded or reduced.
Hypotenuse The side of a right triangle that is opposite of the right angle.
Legs In a right triangle, the sides that form the right angle.
Pythagorean Theorem States that the sum of the squares of the lengths of the legs of a right triangle equals the square of the length of the hypotenuse.
