TermDefinition
Adulate (v.) praise (someone) excessively or obsequiously. Lisa's family adulates her sister because of her grades in school.
Esteem (n.) respect and admiration, typically for a person; (v.) respect and admire. Many people who are shy have low self esteem, while those who are more confident have high self esteem.
Eulogize (v.) praise highly in speech or writing Books by JK Rowling are greatly eulogized.
Exalt (v.) hold (someone or something) in very high regard; think or speak very highly of. Many children have a high exalt for their siblings.
Laud (v.) praise (a person or their achievements) highly, especially in a public context; (n.) praise The mayor gave the basketball team a laud at his most recent speech.
Panegyrize (v.) peak or write in praise of; eulogize. There are usually panegyrizes at funerals.
Revere (v.) feel deep respect or admiration for (something). My brother had a great revere for batman.
Venerate (v.) regard with great respect; revere. My sister venerates my mother all the time.
Extol (v.) praise enthusiastically. Our 3rd grade teacher wold extol students often.
Acclaim (v.) praise enthusiastically and publicly; (n.) enthusiastic and public praise Many movies have critical acclaim.
