Functions and Inequalities Vocab

dependent variable the output value (it “depends” on the input value)
independent variable the input value (can be any number you chose)
function a relation that assigns exactly one input value and one output value
function table a way to organize the input-output values and the function rule
function rule describes the relationship between each input and output

linear function a function whose graph is a line
inequality a mathematical sentence that compares quantities
