Simplifying Radicals What you circle goes outside the radical symbolThe prime numbers you haven’t circled go inside the radical
Multiplying Radicals Ex. squareroot of 3 x square root of 3 = square root of 9
Dividing Radicals Ex. the sqaure root of 50/2 =square root of 25
Rationalize the Denominator the numerator can have radicals, the denominator can not
Adding or Subtracting Radicals Only like radicals can combinbe Ex. suare root of 3 plus square root of 3 = 2 times the square root of 3
Multiplying Binomials using multiplication in binomials really means adding them Ex. (3Y) (3Y) = 9Y2 or FOIL
Conjugate Ex.(a-b) is the conjugate of (a+b).
Rational Exponents Top number is the power of the number the bottom number is the root of the radical
Radical Equations 2(X + 3)32 = 54
