Geometry Vocab Set 3

Prism A solid with two parallel congruent bases that are both polygons.
Polygon A two-dimensional (plane) shape with straight sides.
Net A two-dimensional pattern that can be folded to form a solid.
Pyramid A solid that has only one base and its faces are all triangles.
Cross-Section The intersection of a solid figure and a plane.
Lateral Face A face that is not a base on a solid figure.
Right Prism A prism where the bases are directly above each other, creating lateral faces that are perpendicular to the bases.
Lateral Area The sum of the areas of the lateral faces.
Surface Area The sum of the areas of the lateral faces and the areas of the bases of a prism.
Slant Height The height of a triangular face.
Volume This measures the space occupied by a solid.
Complex Solid This is formed when two or more solids are put together.
