What are the 8 keys to lifting/lowering (last 4) 5.Get a firm grip and grasp opposite corners6.Lift with a smooth, steady motion, dont jerk7.Move your feet, step or pivot, dont twist8.Use the existing equipment or facilities to assist in the lift or lower.
What are the 5 keys to preventing slips and falls? 1.Walk at a brisk pace, dont run2.Establish firm footing, maintain your balance3.Dont walk on conveyor rollers, chutes and slides4.Look before stepping5.Make adjustments based on changing conditions.
When do you use and how do you properly secure a conveyor (belt)? Anytime you need to get on the belt. Only to break a jam, move a diverter or walk the belt. Must announce, stop, secure latch, insert S hook and test.
Once a belt has been secured, who can un-secure the belt? Only the person who secures it.
When can you lockout equipment? Never, only maintenance can lock out equipment
What are your responsibilities regarding yard control procedures? Can only use pedestrian walkway, pedestrian walkway and break area
Where do you go in the event of a tornado, hurricane or earthquake and how are you notified? Notified by word of mouth, go to inner box house, i.e. training room
Explain what you would do if a package is generating smoke, fumes or is otherwise irritating? Dont touch, leave area and notify supervisor.
Explain what you would do if a package is leaking and it carries no label or other indications of its contents? Treat the package as hazardous, dont touch, leave the area, notify supervisor
Has the emergency evacuation alarm been demonstrated within the past 12 months? Yes, I heard it in orientation, may 5th
In an emergency evacuation, where do you assemble and where is the emergency evacuation plan posted for your work area? We assemble by the guardshack, along the fence on the "L"
What are the 8 rules for a good sorter? 1.Stand at a 45 degree angle. 2.nearer before farther. 3.Larger before smaller, 4.Grasp opposite corners, 5.Loasd cage on power side. 6.Labels up or out, 7.Stack small on top of large, 8.Move to the work
