Why did Columbus go on his journey West from Southern Spain? To find a new sea and lucrative route to the Orient
What did Columbus find? Highly-developed civilisations
Why were the American civilisations highly developed? They had great hallmarks including great farming methods e.g. clearing large spaces of forest
Who did Hernan Cortes kill? The Aztec leader Montezuma II
Who was Francisco Pizzaro? A Spanish Conquistador that conquered the Incan Empire.
What are "blancos criollos" or creoles? Spaniards born in the Americas
Why did the Spaniards bring the Africans to the Americas? They were to work for the Spaniards as slaves.
Where did the first independence movement of Latin America start? In Mexico.
When was the de facto independence of Latin America start? December of 1824.
