| prologue | the beginning speech in a play given by the chorus usually |
| chorus | group of actors who help to tell the story |
| hamartia | a flaw in a character's personality which leads to a downfall |
| stage directions | notes that tell actors on stage where to go and how to act |
| act | one of the major divisions of a play |
| scence | one of the divisions of an act |
