Chemical reactions vocab

Molecule Two or more atoms combined to form a compound or element.
Element Two or more of the same type of atom bonded together.
Open System A system where matter can be lost or gained.
Chemical Bond The way in which two or more atoms combine to form a molecule.
Chemical Reactions The way in which two or more elements/compounds react to each other.
Closed System A system where matter can not be lost of gained.
Chemical Formula A line of writing that displays the types of atoms inside of a substance.
Reactant The atoms or substances that react with each other during a chemical reaction.
Law of Conservation of Mass A law stating that matter can not be created or destroyed.
Compound A molecule made up of two or more different types of atoms.
Product The substance you end up with after a chemical reaction.
