Term | Definition |

Molecule | Two or more atoms combined to form a compound or element. |
Element | Two or more of the same type of atom bonded together. |
Open System | A system where matter can be lost or gained. |
Chemical Bond | The way in which two or more atoms combine to form a molecule. |
Chemical Reactions | The way in which two or more elements/compounds react to each other. |
Closed System | A system where matter can not be lost of gained. |
Chemical Formula | A line of writing that displays the types of atoms inside of a substance. |
Reactant | The atoms or substances that react with each other during a chemical reaction. |
Law of Conservation of Mass | A law stating that matter can not be created or destroyed. |
Compound | A molecule made up of two or more different types of atoms. |
Product | The substance you end up with after a chemical reaction. |
