| Obsequious | observing or performing a service for someone in a overly attentive manner | The limo driver was extra obsequious when he was driving the two couples to the party. |
| Servile | slave-like very humble and submissive | The hippy was servile during the whole concert. |
| Slavish | slave-like, overly humble, involving very hard work | All of the artists were working slavish hours for their greedy boss. |
| Submissive | voluntarily, obeying another, humble | Rodney was submissive to his parents when they found him drunk at the party. |
| Subordinate | inferior; lower in rank or status | Susan held a subordinate position in the charity event because her friend Larry was in charge. |
| Subservient | obedient; obsequious | The intern was acting subservient because his boss offered to give him time off. |
