| omniscient | narrator outside story, but know everything |
| limited narrator | outside, only knows some things |
| irony | contradiction, opposite idea |
| situational irony | contradiction between what happens and what is expected to happen |
| verbal irony | contradiction between what is said and what is meant |
| dramatic irony | contradiction between what a character thinks and what reader knows |
