| Altruistic | unselfish, concerned with the welfare of others My mom is altruistic. |
| Assent | to express agreement; agreement My mom and I have an assent about what my grades should be. |
| Benefactor | one who does good to others Volunteers are benefactors. |
| Chivalrous | marked by honor, courtesy, and courage; knightly Men should be chivalrous to others. |
| Clemency | mercy, humaneness; mildness, moderateness Sometimes death row prisoners are granted clemency before their execution. |
| Dearth | a lack, scarcity, inadequate supply; a famine In Georgia there is a dearth of snow during the Winter. |
| Diffident | shy, lacking self-confidence; modest, reserved Mormons are diffident. |
| Discrepancy | a difference; a lack of agreement People have discrepancies of opinions. |
| Embark | to go aboard; to make a start; to invest I'm going to embark on a journey. |
| Facile | easily done or attained; superficial; ready, fluent; easily shown but not sincerely felt I am facile in math. |
| Indomitable | unconquerable, refusing to yield Some people are indomitable. |
| Infallible | free from error; absolutely dependable I think I am infallible |
| Plod | to walk heavily or slowly; to work slowly Some people plod in the hallway. |
| Pungent | causing a sharp sensation; stinging, biting Jellyfish are pungent when they touch you. |
| Remiss | neglectful in performance of one's duty, careless I can not stand when people are remiss about their school work. |
| Repose | to rest; lie; place relaxation, peace of mind, calmness Your bed is a place to repose, not the school desk. |
| Temerity | rashness, boldness These kids in this class sure do have so temerity to talk to you like that. |
| Truculent | fierce and cruel; aggressive; deadly, destructive; scathingly harsh The weather can be truculent. |
| Unfeingned | sincere, real, without pretense People need to be unfeigned with their apologies. |
| Virulent | extremely poisonous; full of malice; spiteful Cobras are virulent. |
