| Stanza | A section of lines in a poem. |
| Foreshadow | Use of hints or clues to suggest events that will occur later in the story. |
| Epithet | Adjective or descriptive phrase expressing a quality characteristic of the person or thing mentioned (renaming something). |
| Assonance | Repetition of vowel sounds in non rhyming words. |
| Sibilance | The overuse of the same letter to create a dramatic effect by forcing the words to be drawn out. |
| Tragic Hero | A literary character that makes a judgement error that inevitably leads to his/her own demise. |
