| Law of Universal Gravitation | Newton states that every particle in the universe has an attractive force with every other particle. |
| Natural Resources | Materials that are found on Earth and used by people. |
| Minerals | Non-living materials that are found naturally on Earth. |
| Whole Numbers | The number zero and all of the natural numbers. |
| Rational Numbers | The set of positive fractions and their opposites, including zero. |
| Integers | The set of positive numbers and their opposites, including zero. |
| Additive Inverse | Two numbers that have the sum of zero. |
| Absoulute Value | A number's distance from zero on a number line. |
| American Revolution | The struggle of the colonies in North America to gain their independence from Great Britain. |
| Continental Army | The American Army commanded by George Washington. |
| Strategy | An overall plan, such as for winning a war. |
| Ally | A nation that joins another nation in some common effort, such as fighting a war. |

| Quaker | A religious group that is against the war. |
| Voracious | Having a very eager approach to an activity. |
| Indiscriminate | Done at random or without careful judgement. |
| Replete | Filled or well-supplied with something. |
| Steeped | Surround or fill with a quality or influence. |
