TermDefinition
1st Person Point Of Veiw When the main character tells the story.
3rd Person Limited Point Of View The narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of a character.
3rd Person Omniscient Point Of View Method of story telling in which the narrator knows everything about everybody.
Allegory Story that reveals a hidden meaning.
Alliteration Occurance of same letter at the begginings of a group of words.
Internal Conflict Struggling occurs with the characters mind.
Memior Factual story about someone.
Metaphor Comparrison not using like or as.
Motivation Thriving to do something.
Onmatopeia sound words
Personification Giving something human characteristics.
Plot A plan made in secret by a group of people to do something illegal or harmful.
Antagonist A person, who actively opposes or is hostile to someone or something; an adversary.
Character The mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.
Climax The most intense, exiting, or important part of the story.
Exposition Idea or theroy
Falling Action Defined parts of the story, before the end, but after the climax.
Figurative Language Uses words and expressions with meaning and is different than regular speaking.
Forreshadowing Warning of future events.
Imagery A visually descriptive word or figurative language.
Setting The place or type of surroundings where something is positioned or where an event takes place.
Simile A comparison using like or as.
Theme The subject of a talk, a piece of writing, a person“s thoughts, a exhibition, or a topic.
Protagonist The leading character or one of the major characters in drama, movie, novel, or other fictional text.
Repetition Repeating something that has already been written.
Resolution Decision not to do something.
Rising Action Plots in a series.
