electronegativity the ability to attract shared electrons
Polarity separation of charges
Polar Covalent Bonds A covalent bond in which the two atoms have different electronegativities ; distributed unevenly
Nonpolar Covalent Bonds A covalent bond in which the two atoms have identical or very similar electronegativities; distributed evenly
Ionic Bond A bond formed by the transfer of electrons from one atom to another
Cohesion Attraction of molecules in a liquid to each other due to inter molecular forces
