TermDefinition
model Physical, mental, and other representations of an idea to help people understand a concept that they cannot observe.
atom The smallest particle of any molecule.
molecule Two or more atoms bonded together
chemistry The study of properties of matter and how matter changes.
matter Anything that has mass and occupies space.
mixture Two or more substances that are mixed together but not chemically combined.
bonds The force that holds atoms together.
reactants A substance that causes a chemical reaction.
law of conservation of mass The principle stating that matter is not created nor destroyed during a chemical reaction.
products A substance formed due to a chemical reaction.
endothermic reactions A reaction that absorbs energy in the form of heat.
exothermic reactions A reaction that releases energy in the form of heat.
