QuestionAnswer
periodic table arranges all of the known elements in order of increasing atomic number (of protons)
metals solid at room temperature, ones at the bottom left are most reactive, most are conductors
non-metals less reactive than metals, not good conductors
metalloids elements on both sides of the zig zag line that have properties of both metals and non-metals
periods located on the rows labeled 1-7
groups also known as families on the periodic table are the columns labeled 1-8
