Sagittal plane That's the body from front to back resulting in right and left parts
Mid sagittal or median plane Exactly in the middle and cut the body into equal halves
Frontal or coronal plane Vertical plane which cuts the body from side to side at right angles to the median plane and results in front and back parts of the body
Transverse plane Cuts the body horizontally or crosswise in result in upper and lower body parts
Integumentary system The skin and its components which are involved in covering and protecting the body as a whole, as well as such functions as temperature regulation an acting as a sensory organ
Reproductive system Those organs both male and female which involved in reproduction of the species in the development of sexual characteristics
Respiratory system The Longs and other organs concerned with taking an oxygen and the elimination of other respiratory gases
Urinary system The kidneys and related organs were served to clean waste products from the blood and maintain proper fluid and chemical balances in the body
Digestive system Various organs concerned with the taking in a food products, breaking them down so nutrients can be absorbed, and the elimination of solid waste products
Nervous system The brain and spinal cord and nerves which have overall control over bodily functions insert to coordinate the performance of tasks by various cells tissues and organs in the body
Endocrine system Group of glands which gave off secretions which service chemical regulatory of various bodily functions
Muscular system All the body's muscles which are concerned primarily with movement of body parts
Circulatory system The hearts blood and blood vessels plus the lymphatic system service to transport gases nutrients and waste products throughout the body was helping to protect against disease
Skeletal system The bones cartilage and ligaments which provide support and protection to the body
Membrane Then she like expanse of tissue and then he body membranes are epithelial in nature
Epithelial tissue General category of tissue which is found covering the outer surface of many body parts and letting the inner surfaces of body cavities and organs
Nucleus Controls most cellular activities including reproduction of protein synthesis and contains the cells genetic material which determines a person's various characteristics
Cytoplasm Protoplasm of a cell which lies between the nucleus of the cell membrane – contains numerous small structures or organelles, which perform various cellular activities
Cytoplasm – ribosomes Synthesizes proteins
Cytoplasm – mitochondria Cellular power plants which produce energy
Cytoplasm – lysosomes Contains enzymes which digest substances brought into the cell
Cytoplasm – endoplasmic reticulum Series of membranes form and canals with transport nutrients and other materials through the cell
Cytoplasm – centrioles Important in cell division and reproduction
Plasma membrane Forms the outer boundary of the cell keep this all in tact and regulates the passage of fluids and other substances in and out of the cell because only certain substances can enter and leave it at sometimes described as a semi permeable membrane
Human physiology Study of the function of the body and its parts
topographical anatomy Or surface anatomy refers to the study of surface shape and form of the human body and the ability to use this knowledge of surface form to locate underlying structures
Pathological anatomy or human pathology Study the structural and functional changes which occur the body as a result of disease
Developmental anatomy or embryology The first to the study of the body before birth from its earliest beginnings as a fertilized egg until the time of birth
Regional anatomy Study of some particular body region as a separate units such as the study of the head or the study of the chest area
systemic anatomy Study of individual body organs and systems such as the study of the digestive system or the study of the respiratory system
Microscopic anatomy or histology Refers to the study of the body with the aid of a microscope
Gross anatomy Study of the body with a unaided eye
Hardened calcified connected tissue Bone
Five characteristics that are observed at the cellular level Irritability, ability to take in food and water, ability to give up waste products, ability to grow mature, and ability to reproduce
