| character | a person or animal in a movie or literary work |
| mood | atmosphere created in a story through the setting and them evokes certain feelings or vibes in readers |
| deduction | fact collection of data and/or conclusions to substantiate an argument or claim |
| suspense | feeling of anxiety, excitement or uncertainty about events in a story |
| alibi | form of defense used by an accused criminal of their where abouts that places the accused somewhere other than the scene of the crime |
| red herring | misleading or distracting clue or evidence |
| suspects | people who may have committed the crime |
| perpetrator | person who commits a criminal, evil or illegal act |
| sleuth | person who investigates or searches for evidence |
| clue | piece of evidence that ssists or guides investigators toward solving the crime or mystery |
| evidence | provides information towards the perpetrtor of the crime |
| plot | sequence of events in a story |
| setting | the place or type of surroundings where the story is poitioned or where an event takes place |
| witness | sees the criminal, evil or illegal act |
