| Distributive Property | A property that can be used to find the product of a number and a sum or difference. |
| Like Terms | Terms that have the same variable parts. Constant terms are also like terms. |
| Equivalent Equations | Equations that have the same solutions. |
| Inverse Operations | Two operations that undo each other. |
| Formula | An equation that relates two or more quantities. |
| Reciprocal | An expression or function so related to another that their product is one. |
| Variable | A letter that is used to represent one or more numbers. |
| Algebraic Expressions | An expression that includes at least one variable. Also called variable expressions. |
| Power | An Expression that represents repeated multiplication of the same factor. |
| Exponent | The number or variable that represents the number of times the base of a power is used as a factor. |
| Base Of A Power | The number or expression that is used as a factor in a repeated multiplication. |
| Open Sentence | An equation or an equality that contains an algebraic expressions. |
| Equation | A mathematical sentence formed by placing the symbol = between two expressions. |
| Inequality | A mathematical sentence formed by placing on of the symbols <, >, And the ones with equals. |
