| Allay | Diminish or put at rest(fear, suspicion, or worry) Relieve or alleviate (pain or hunger). |
| Alleviate | Make (Suffering, deficiency, or a problem) less severe. |
| Ameliorate | Make (something bad or unsatisfactory) better. |
| Appease | Pacify or placate (someone) by acceding to their demands. Relieve or satisfy (a demand or a feeling). |
| Assuage | Make (an unpleasant feeling) less intense. Satisfy (an appetite or desire) |
| Conciliate | Stop (Someone) from being angry or discontented; placate; pacify. |
| Mediate | Intervene between people in a dispute in order to bring about an agreement or reconciliation. Bring about (a result such as a physiological effect). |
| Mitigate | Make less severe, serious, or painful. Lessen the gravity of (an offense or mistake). |
| Mollify | Appease the anger of anxiety of (someone). Reduce the severity of (something); soften. |
| Pacify | Quell the anger, agitation, or excitement of. Bring peace to (a country or warring factions), especially by the use or threatened use of military force. |
