TermDefinition
1. Draft View A way of viewing a document on screen that shows only the text of a document.
2. Full Screen Reading View A way of viewing a document on screen that shows text on the screen in a form that is easy to read.
3. Insertion Point A blinking vertical line that shows where text will appear when you begin typing.
4. Landscape Orientation A page or worksheet rotated so it is wider than it is long.
5. Office Button A button that opens a menu with commands for working with files, including commands for opening, saving, printing, and creating new files.
6. Outline View A way of viewing a document on screen that displays headings and text in outline form so you can see the structure of your documents and reorganize easily.
7. Portrait Orientation A page or worksheet rotated so it is longer than it is wide.
8. Print Layout View The most common way of viewing a document on screen.
9. Print Preview A way of viewing a document on screen that enables you to see the document as it will appear when printed.
10. Quick Access Toolbar A small customizable toolbar at the top of the screen with buttons for common commands such as Save and Undo.
11. Ribbon An area at the top of an Office program window that contains commands for working with the open file.
12. Status Bar A bar at the bottom of to program window that provides information about the current file and process.
13. Toolbar An area in a window that contains buttons used to execute a function or open a command menu.
14. View Buttons In an Office program window, buttons that you can click to change views quickly.
15. Web Layout View A way of viewing a document on screen that simulates the way a document will look when it is viewed as a Web page.
16. Word Processing the use of a computer and software to enter and exit text and produce documents such as letters, memos, forms, and reports.
17. Word Wrap A feature in Word that automatically wraps words around to the next line when they will not fit on the current line.
18. Zoom The percentage the file is magnified or reduced on the screen.
19. Zoom Slider A bar in the lower-right corner of an Office program window that you can use to increase or decrease the size of the document on screen.
