Cliche' A phrase that is overused.
Derivative Something that is based on another subject.
Hackneyed An idea that is unoriginal and trite
Insipid Lacking vigor and interest.
Lackluster Lacking in vitality, force, or conviction; uninspired or uninspiring.
Mundane Lacking excitement; dull.
Platitude A remark or statement , especially one with moral content, that has been used to often to be interesting or thoughtful.
Prosaic Having the style or diction of prose; lacking poetic beauty.
Trite ( Of a remark, opinion, or idea) overused and consequently of little import; lacking originality or freshness.
Vapid Offering nothing that is stimulating or challenging.
