Banal So lacking in originality as to be obvious and boring.
Cliche A phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought.
Derivative (Typically of an artist or work of art) imitative of the work of another person, usually disapproved of for that reason.
Hackneyed (Of a phrase or idea) lacking significance through having been overused; unoriginal and trite.
Insipid Lacking Flavor.
Lackluster Lacking in vitality, force, or conviction; uninspired or uninspiring.
Mundane Lacking interest or excitement; dull.
Platitude A remark or statement, especially one with a moral content, that has been used too often to be interesting or thoughful.
Prosaic Having the style or diction of prose; lacking poetic beauty.
Trite (Of a remark, opinion, or idea) overused and consequently of little import; lacking originality or freshness.
Vapid Offering nothing that is stimulating or challenging.
