Scientific inquiry Process of asking questions & doing investigations to answer the questions
Hypothesis Possible answer to a question or an educated guess
Procedure The list of steps you follow in a scientific investigation
Control Part of an experiment that is kept the same
Data Facts or figures collected in an experiment
Conclusion An explanation of what the data shows
Scientific method Process of steps that include: purpose, hypothesis, research, experiment, data, and conclusion
Manipulated variable The variable that is changed on purpose to be tested
Variable Anything in an experiment that can change
Responding variable The variable that changes in response to the manipulated variable
