| Colloquial | characteristic of or appropriate to ordinary or familiar conversation rather than formal speech or writing; informal. |
| Diffuse | characterized by great length or discursiveness in speech or writing; wordy. |
| Digress | to deviate or wander away from the main topic or purpose in speaking or writing; depart from the principal line of argument, plot, study, etc. |
| Eloquence | the practice or art of using language with fluency and aptness. |
| Garrulous | excessively talkative in a rambling, roundabout manner, especially about trivial matters. |
| Grandiloquent | speaking or expressed in a lofty style, often to the point of being pompous or bombastic. |
