| Circumlocution | The use of many words where fewer would do; going around the topic/avoiding a topic, deliberately vague/ evasive. |
| Colloquial | Ordinary/familiar conversation, not formal or literary. |
| Diffuse | Spread or cause to spread over wide/large area or among a large amount of people; spread out over a large area; not concentrated. |
| Digress | Leave the main subject temporarily in speech/ writing; deviate, go off tangent. |
| Eloquence | Fluent or persuasive speaking or writing, fluency. |
| Garrulous | Excessively talkative, especially on trivial matters, talkative, chatty. |
| Grandiloquent | Pompous/ extravagant in language, style, or manner, especially in a way that is intended to impress. |
| Loquatious | Talking a great deal; talkative. |
| Prattle | Talk at length in a foolish/inconsequential way; foolish/inconsequential talk. |
| Rant | Speak/shout at length in a wild, impassioned way; spell or ranting; a tirade. |
| Rhetorical | Of relating to, or concerned with the art of rhetoric; expressed in terms intended to persuade/impress; (of a question) asked in order to produce an effect or to make a statement rather that to elicit information. |
