| denominator | The number at the bottom in a fraction |
| improper fraction | A fraction in which the numerator is larger than or equal to the denominator |
| mixed numeral | A number made up of a whole number and a fraction |
| numerator | The number at the top in a fraction |
| reciprocal | The fraction turned upside down |
| Simplify (a fraction) | To reduce the numerator and the denominator of a fraction to their lowest form by dividing them by the same number |
| equivalent fraction | Two or more fractions that represent the same amount. |
| decimal | A number that uses a decimal point and digits to represent tenths, hundredths, and etc. |
| vinculum | A horizontal line used in a fraction to separate the numerator and denominator |
| decimal places | The places after the decimal point in a number |
| recurring decimal | A decimal that has one or more digits that repeat endlessly |
| round | To write a number to a certain number of places |
| terminating decimal | A decimal that is not recurring but comes to an end |
