| Area | The amount of Surface covered by an object. |
| Cross Section | A 'slice' of a solid taken across it rather than along it. |
| Perpendicular Height | The height of a figure taken at right angles to the base. |
| Surface Area | The total area of all the faces of a solid |
| Volume | The amount of space taken up by an object |
| Base | The bottom line of a plane shape or the bottom face of a solid |
| Cylinder | A solid shape with one curved surface and two congruent circular bases |
| Net | Flat shape which can be folded up into a three dimensional solid |
| Prism | A solid three-dimensional shape with two identical parallel bases. All other faces are rectangles |
| Capacity | The amount a container can hold |
