denominator the bottom number in a fraction; tells how many (in all)
fraction A number that names part of a whole or a part of a group
set (group) a whole unit that can be divided into parts, which are fractions of the whole
whole the complete thing; all of the parts
half 1 out of 2 parts
equal parts parts that are divided and are the same
plane shapes shapes that have no thickness
square a rectangle with 4 sides of equal length
rectangle a closed plane shape with 4 sides and 4 right angles
triangle a closed plane shape with 3 sides and 3 angles
hexagon a closed plane shape with 6 sides and 6 angles
trapezoid a 4-sided plane shape with 2 sides parallel and 2 sides not parallel
parallel like train tracks; the lines never touch or cross
pentagon a 5-sided plane shape
