| line | a straight, continuous arrangement of an infinite number of points that has an infinite length, but no width |
| collinear points | points that are located on the same line |
| plane | a flat surface, it has an infinite length and width, but no depth, and extends infinitely in all directions |
| compass | a tool used to create arcs and circles |
| straightedge | a ruler with no numbers |
| sketch the figure is created without the use of tools | the figure is created without the use of tools |
| draw | the figure is created with the use of tools such as a ruler, straightedge, compass, or protractor |
| construct | the figure is created using only a compass and a straightedge |
| coplanar lines two or more lines that are located in the same plane | two or more lines that are located in the same plane |
| skew lines | two or more lines that do not intersect and are not parallel and do not lie in the same plane |
