How does age affect it? After age 35 ^ risk of Downs, age 43 dramatic increase in Downs and Trisomy, girls who get pregnant within 2 yrs after starting period are at higher risk because of gyn development not complete
Categories of fetal death fetal death= in utero, neonatal death=1 week, perinatal death=1st month,pernatal death rate =total per 1000, infant mortality=1st year
What is the leading cause of neonatal death? congenital anomalies
other causes of neonatal death include: disorders realated to preterm or SGA LBW< 2500gms, SIDS, Respiatory distress syndrome, effects of maternal complications
RDS Respiratory distress syndrome, one of the most common complications, any pregnancy that ends before 38th week is at risk for RDS
Regonilazation of health care Basic, Speciality, and Subspeciality
Assessment of risk factors (any one of these can put baby at risk) Genetic disorders, health status, psychsocial risk, sociodemographic risks, enviromental hazards
