Compare the lives of Spartan women and girls to the lives of Athenian women and girls. Spartan ladies were trained in running,wrestling, javelin throwing. They kept fit to become healthy mothers. They were freer than Greek women.They could own property& go wherever. Athenian women stayed at home and were taught household duties by mothers
What was the result of the Peloponnesian War? Why was the Peloponnesian War bad for the winners as well as the losers? The Athenians were defeated by the Spartans. It was bad for both of them bc people died, farms were destroyed, and it was impossible for people to unite together again.
Why did Spartans place so much stress on military service? Please explain in detail. They feared that some day the helots, which were captive workers, would one day rebel. They were expected to win on the battlefield or to die. They were all harshly treated to make them tough.
What led to the Persian Wars? As Greeks set up colonies they clashed with the Persians. Persia already controlled the Greek cities in Asia Minor. Athens helped the Greeks rebel against their Persian rulers.
Describe the government in both Sparta and Athens.
