Alliteration repeated consonant sound at the beginning of several words or in a phrase
Assonance repetition of vowel sounds
Consonance repetition of consonant sounds can be anywhere in the word
End Rhyme when words at the end of 2 or more lines rhyme
Rhyme Scheme pattern of lines rhyme
Internal Rhyme rhyming of words within one line
Onomatopoeia words that sound like what they are
Repetition words or phrases that are repeated
Refrain line or lines or stanzas that are repeated
Stanza group of lines that go together may consist of any number of lines even one line
Quatrain a four line stanza
