Name the very silly statement to help us remember the planets of our Solar System. My very educated mother just served us nachos.
Name the four terrestrial planets. Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.
What does terrestrial mean? Terrestrial means earth, think of terriers, dogs that love to dig into the earth
Name the gas giants. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
What separates the terrestrial planets from the gas giants? The asteroid belt
What planet is closest to the sun? Mercury
What planet is the smallest planet? Mercury
Which planet is similar in size to Earth? Venus
Which planet is red? Mars
Which planet is the largest planet? Jupiter
Which planet has the most visible rings? Saturn
Which planet appears to rotate on its side? Uranus
Which planet is blue? Neptune
Name the planets from smallest to largest. Mercury, Mars, Venus, Earth, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter
How many planets have rings? Four- all four gas giants, although Saturn's rings are the most visible
