Chapter 2:Chemical Reactions
| Term | Definition |

| Chemical Reaction | changes that make one or more new substances, chemical bonds are formed and/or broken, usually cant be reversed. |
| Endothermic Reaction | absorbs energy, lowers the temperature of its surroundings. |
| Exothermic Reaction | releases energy in the form of heat, like when fuel is burned. |
| Chemical Equation | uses chemical formulas to summarize a chemical reaction. |
| Product | substances after the reaction is done. |
| Reactant | substances at the beggining |
| Coefficent | A numerical measure of a physical or chemical property that is a constant for a system under specified conditions. |
| Catalyst | substance that increases the speed if reaction by lowering the activieation energy. |
| Inhibitor | slow down reactions by preventing reactants from coming together. |
| Combustion | a rapid reaction involving oxygen and a fuel |
| Fire Triangle | need fuel, oxygen, and heat for a fire. |
