Racial Formation What is the process by which people come to define a group as a race based in part of physical characteristics but in also historical, cultural and economic factors called?
Stereotype An unreliable generalization about all members of a group that does not recognize individual differences within the group.
Racial Group A group that is set apart from others because of obvious physical differences.
Ethnic Group A group that is set apart from others primarily because of its national origin or distinctive cultural patterns.
Functionalist Perspective Which sociological perspective would likely suggest that immigration reliefs labor shortages in the receiving nation and it reliefs economies unable to support large numbers of people in the ascending nations?
