What was Scouts role in the pageant: What was her costume made out of? She was a play ham: chicken wire covered by cloth.
What was the night of the pageant like? It was dark, no moon
How does Scout feel about Jem in this chapter: what are some of the things she says? She says that he is getting as good as Atticus at saying things that make you feel better.
On the walk home, how does Scouts costume turn out to be a life svaer? The chicken wire prevented the knife from cutting through her body.
What happens by the tree? Someone knocks jem down and breaks his arm. The same person tries to stab Scout. Someone else pick up Jem and carries him home
Who do you suppose the villian was? Who would you guess to be the hero? Bob Ewell. The person who carries him home

what does atticus say about mobs and men over the breakfast table? mobs are made up of men
what is significant about Mr Dolphus Raymond? he is white and married to a black woman

what does atticus spend much of his time asking mr tate? if he had called for a doctor and if he sent anyone to get a doctor
where do the Ewells live and what does this say about their social position in Maycomb country? behind town garbage dump , in what used to be a black cabin
why did atticus want ewell to write his name ? because he writes with his left hand , showing he could have hit mayella
what is mayellas version of what happened? she asked tom to chop up a wardrobe for her and he got behind her and started choking her
why did mayella think that atticus was mocking her? he asked if she had any friends
what was wrong with tom robinsons arm? he had no use of his left arm
