| Point of View | The perspective used to tell a story |
| First Person POV | The speaker is a character in the story; reader is able to know character's feelings, thoughts, etc |
| Second Person POV | Only time you really see this is in directions; involves reader |
| Third Person POV | Narrator not in story; tell from outside perspective |
| First Person Pronouns | I, me, my, us, we, our |
| Second Person Pronouns | you, yourself, your |
| Third Person Pronouns | he, she, they, him, her |
| What are the three types of Third Person POV? | Omniscient, limited, and objective |
| Omniscient POV | All knowing, mind reader; narrator knows thoughts and feelings of all characters |
| Limited POV | Tells story as outside observer who only knows the thoughts and feeling of ONE character |
| Objective POV | "Sportscaster", "Fly on the wall", outside observer who only shares what is seen or heard(no thoughts or feelings) |
| Narrator | The person who narrates, or tells, a story, or narrative; can be an outside observer or a character in the story |
