| OH- | Hydroxide ion |

| Salt | one of the products (besides water) of an acid base reaction |
| weak | acid or base does not dissociate completely |
| strong | acid or base dissociates completely |
| neutral | pH of 7, [H+] = [OH-] |
| formula to find pH | -log[H+]=pH |
| formula to find pOH | -log[OH-]=pOH |
| pH + pOH = | 14 |
| Binary acid | use -hydro in the name |
| Ternary acid | do not use -hydro in the name |
