Milestones Review

QuestionAnswer
Dangling Modifier- A phrase or clause that doesn't have a word in the sentence to modify it; IT'S MISSING!
Misplaced Modifier- A word or phrase/clause that is improperly separated from the word it modifies.
Connotation- An implied meaning that the author intends.
Denotation- The exact dictionary definition of the word.
Redundancy- A word or phrase that repeats something else and is very unnecessary.
Root- The foundation of a word, USUALLY FROM GREEK OR LATIN MEANINGS.
Informative Text- A form of writing that INFORMS the reader.
Authors Purpose- The reason for the authors writing; IT SHOULD BE EITHER PERSUASIVE, INFORMATIVE, EXPLANATORY, or ENTERTAINING.
