Proportion Mathematically they are represented by separating each quantity with a colon, fraction and and using the word “is to”
direct proportion As one values increases, the other decreases
ratio It is used to compare two ratios or make equivalent fractions
indirect proportion a number is divided into parts proportional to given ratio.
partitive proportion As one values increases, so does the other.
