define drug misuse improper use of medication (as specified by a doctor)
Define drug abuse illegal use of a drug; use of substances that shouldn't enter the body
Define addiction a physical or psychological need for a drug
What are the five classifications of drugs? narcotics, stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens, and inhalents
What are narcotics? specific drugs that are only obtainable by a prescription and are used to relieve extreme pain. They are very addictive.
What are some examples of narcotics? morphine and codeine (prescription pain killers) and heroin (illegal abused narcotic made from morphine)
What are stimulants? substances that speed up the body's functions (heart rate, breathing, blood pressure)
