Finding the likelihood of an event

Experiment An activity involving chance in which results are observed
Trial Each observation of an experiment is a trial
Outcome Each result is an outcome.
Event A set of one or more outcomes is an event
Probability of an event {written P(event)} It measures the likelihood that the event would occur
Impossible 0/0% chance that it would happen
Unlikely It could happen, but could not happen because there is little of it (it is uncertain)
As likely as not There is a fifty-fifty chance that something could happen
Likely There is a lot of it, but all of it isn't that kind
Certain It is 100% sure that it is going to happen
Sample space A set of all possible outcomes of an event
Probability of an event number of times the event occurs/ total number of equally likely possible outcomes.
