Who had more freedom--Spartan or Athenian women? Spartan women had more freedom. They could own property and were trained in athletics. They still did not have as much freedom as Spartan men, and did not participate in the military.
Where was Athens located? In a region called Attica on the coast of the Aegean Sea.
What kind of government did Athens have? Democracy, where people had power. People had power by voting and debating political issues.
What kind of government did Sparta have? Oligarchy--only a few wealthy people were in charge of the government.
