Which set of elements usually has more in common, periods or groups? Why? Groups, they react with other elements in similar ways.
Describe which physical properties change in a predictable pattern as you move from left to right across a period. Melting point, boiling point, and density increase then decrease as you move from left to right. The number of protons increase as your move from left to right. The atomic mass generally increases as you move from left to right.
